The maternity hospital was built in 1985. Back then, it was called the fourth clinical maternity hospital. Only since 2004, the maternity hospital was renamed "Saint Gregory the Illuminator" and merged with some centers, becoming a member of the big family of the medical center of the same name. Due to its saturation, professional staffing and multi-functionality, it ranks among the 3rd class maternity hospitals of the republic.
A team of the best specialists of the country works here, who regularly undergo training in developed countries of the region as well as in Europe.
In the maternity hospital, both medical conservative and surgeries due to various gynecological problems are performed. It stands out for its high and quality saturation level. Such equipment has been introduced that allows us to keep up with modern surgery. In particular, our operating theaters are equipped with the latest generation laparoscopic devices of the German company KARL STORZ.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is specially and in some cases also exceptionally equipped to save babies born prematurely, prematurely and with problems. Neonatologists-reanimatologists have the opportunity to work with the latest generation solutions: high-frequency oscillatory artificial respiration devices, the latest generation mobile ultrasound and X-ray devices that allow you to perform the necessary examinations without moving the baby, LED phototherapy lamps and heaters, GE Lullaby open resuscitation system, which makes it possible to carry out full-scale resuscitation, transformer quayses, EEG monitoring, which allows recording invisible shocks, etc.
"Saint Gregory the Illuminator" maternity hospital is part of two important international projects. We are considered the Armenian-Greek fetal medicine center in Armenia. The Center for Fetal Medicine provides an opportunity to study possible defects of the fetus in all trimesters, in addition to performing intrauterine operations on newborns. To realize this goal, our specialists are trained in the best clinics in the Kingdom of Great Britain.
The next important project is the cooperation with the IOM Center named after the world-famous French gynecologist Michel Auden, which is a supporter of the ideology of soft, convenient and as far as possible childbirth, mother- and child-friendly maternity hospitals.
2000-2200 babies are born in our maternity hospital every year.
