STUDENT COUNCIL

REGULATIONS

1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

1.1. The Student Council (hereinafter referred to as SC) of the "St. Gregory the Illuminator" State Medical College under the "St. Gregory the Illuminator" Medical Center CJSC (hereinafter referred to as the College) is a representative, autonomous, and elective body that represents the social interests of the College’s students.

1.2. The SC is a non-political and non-partisan organization.

1.3. The SC expresses and protects the interests of students, contributing to their educational, creative, moral, and spiritual development.

1.4. In its activities, the SC is guided by the current legislation of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the statutes of the institution and its own regulations.

1.5. The SC may have its own letterheads, symbols, and other forms of identification, which must include the SC's name in Armenian.

1.6. The full name of the SC is: in Armenian, "Student Council of the St. Gregory the Illuminator State Medical College."

1.7. The SC is located at Gyurjyan 10, Yerevan, "St. Gregory the Illuminator" State Medical College.


2. GOALS AND MAIN DIRECTIONS OF ACTIVITY

2.1. The SC aims to:
a) Ensure student participation in the management of the College.
b) Submit student-related issues for discussion to the relevant College management bodies.
c) Participate in organizing the educational process and developing and implementing programs to improve its effectiveness.
d) Protect the rights and interests of students.
e) Unite the efforts of the College’s students to create a favorable environment and support their educational, spiritual, creative, and physical development.
f) Organize students’ leisure and recreation, and assist in improving their social conditions.
g) Maintain internal discipline within the College premises.

2.2. The SC operates based on these goals and tasks, cooperating with student, youth, and other organizations in the region, as well as with private individuals.


3. RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF SC MEMBERS

3.1. SC members have the right to:

a) Participate in the College’s Management Board and Pedagogical Council meetings, especially on issues concerning students’ education, quality of knowledge acquisition, and additional work organization.
b) Provide opinions to the Pedagogical Council regarding disciplinary measures for students, including cases of internal rule violations.
c) Create various student clubs and support their activities.
d) Respond to and address individual and collective proposals and applications from students within their competence.
e) Work to improve student discipline, attendance, and academic progress.
f) Assist the Management Board, Director’s Council, Pedagogical Council, and administration in carrying out tasks directly related to students.
g) Participate in community support programs.
h) Carry out other responsibilities stemming from the College’s charter, these regulations, and students’ rights and obligations.
i) Receive necessary information about the SC’s activities.
j) Elect the SC President from among their ranks.
k) Expand the SC by nominating new candidates from the student body.

3.2. SC members are obliged to:

a) Contribute to strengthening the SC’s reputation and increasing the efficiency of its activities.
b) Actively participate in developing and implementing programs and events organized by the SC.
c) Fulfill their duties conscientiously.
d) Avoid actions that could damage the SC's or its members’ reputation.
e) Comply with other obligations set out in these regulations.

3.3. The powers of SC members may be terminated early in the following cases:

a) By decision of the SC, for repeated absences, failure to fulfill duties, disciplinary violations, or failure to comply with the obligations of a student as outlined in the College’s charter.
b) Upon graduation.
c) In cases of expulsion or voluntary withdrawal from the College.
d) At the member’s personal request.

3.4. The decision to terminate an SC member’s powers is made by the SC.
