Education: Full-time and Distance Learning
Full-time education:
- Based on secondary education – 2 years
- Based on basic education – 3 years
Distance learning:
- Based on secondary education – 3 years
The studies are conducted in Armenian, in accordance with state educational standards, in specialized classrooms and laboratories, under the guidance of highly qualified lecturers, with excellent material and technical resources.
Practical training takes place in the professional cabinets and departments of the "Saint Gregory the Illuminator" Medical Center and partnering organizations.
Upon graduation, students are awarded a state-issued diploma with an appendix.
Qualified Specialist Performs the Following Activities:
- Pharmacist in a retail pharmaceutical organization
- Pharmacist in a wholesale pharmaceutical organization
- Pharmacist in a pharmaceutical manufacturing organization
Can perform the following duties:
- Determine the demand for medications, medical items, and cosmetic products
- Formulate product requirements for the pharmacy's inventory and communicate them to suppliers
- Accept medications, medical items, and cosmetic products from suppliers and verify the integrity of their packaging
- Store medications, medical items, and cosmetic products
- Utilize official reference sources and medication package inserts
- Understand the pharmacological effects of various drug groups on the human body
- Classify medications according to their pharmacological groups, storage requirements, and merchandising standards
- Provide informational and advisory services to consumers regarding the usage, storage, and other related matters of medications, medical items, and cosmetic products
- Substitute OTC (over-the-counter) medications with their equivalents when needed
- Accept prescriptions, verify the compatibility of ingredients, and ensure the accuracy of prescription formulations
- Prepare various dosage forms (solid, liquid, soft) in the pharmacy
- Package and label the prepared medications
- Dispense medications, medical items, and cosmetic products produced in the pharmacy or factory
- Communicate with consumers for feedback and report information about side effects of medications
- Formulate incoming and outgoing orders
- Conduct accounting and inventory control of materials
- Perform an economic analysis of the pharmacy and its departments' activities
- Uphold pharmaceutical ethics and deontology
- Prevent occupational diseases
- Provide first aid
- Adhere to sanitary standards, safety techniques, and fire safety requirements
