Nursing

Education is available:

  • Based on secondary education: 3 years
  • Based on basic education: 4 years

The training is conducted in Armenian, following the requirements of the state educational standards, in appropriate teaching cabinet-laboratories, by high-level professors, and with excellent material and technical support.

Practical training sessions are held in the relevant professional cabinets and departments of the "Saint Gregory the Illuminator" Medical Center CJSC.

The qualification is awarded in accordance with the order approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia on May 18, 2020, No. N08 - N.

Graduates are awarded a state-standard diploma along with a supplement, which is also recognized in the USA.

The qualified specialist performs the following duties:

  • General practice nurse/paramedic
  • Nursing work in therapy, pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, infectious diseases, neurology, psychiatry, dermatology and sexually transmitted diseases, ENT diseases, ophthalmology, geriatrics, resuscitation and intensive therapy, rehabilitation, and traditional medicine.

The specialist is capable of performing the following duties:

  • Performing diagnostic, therapeutic, resuscitation, rehabilitation, preventive, health-promoting, sanitary-hygienic, and sanitary-educational procedures for patients of various sex and age groups according to doctor's orders, in hospital and outpatient conditions.
  • Implementing and documenting nursing processes during patient care.
  • Organizing and providing nursing care in both hospital and home settings.
  • Assessing the condition of patients and injured individuals in critical and borderline conditions, differentiating primary symptoms and syndromes, and providing first medical assistance in emergency situations.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of medications for specific patients and providing first medical assistance in cases of medication poisoning.
  • Preparing patients for laboratory, functional, and instrumental examinations.
  • Performing basic physiotherapy procedures, utilizing elements of psychotherapy, ensuring adherence to prescribed diets, and evaluating the effectiveness of therapeutic measures.
  • Planning and assessing preventive programs aimed at educating and training individuals, families, and groups of the population to maintain and strengthen health.
  • Overseeing the adherence to pharmaceutical regulations concerning the acquisition, storage, and use of medications.
  • Managing medical records.
  • Ensuring compliance with infection control requirements and maintaining infection safety for patients and healthcare personnel.
  • Conducting activities related to the protection of the healthcare staff of disaster medicine services, patients, and injured individuals.
  • Preparing instruments for complex medical procedures performed by doctors.
  • Preparing patients for diagnostic studies and urgent surgeries.
  • Collecting, transferring, and preserving materials for microbiological research.
  • Performing nursing interventions.
  • Preventing diseases.
  • Executing doctor's diagnostic and therapeutic orders.
  • Providing comprehensive care for patients.
