The work of the Anesthesiological Department of «Saint Gregory the Illuminator» Medical Center is aimed at providing perioperative Medical Care for patients.
The Anesthesiological Department carries out anesthesia for planned and urgent surgical interventions, based on international guidelines.
The Department also provides anesthesia for minor invasive interventions and examinations: endoscopy, magnetic resonance imaging, computer imaging.
The Department is a chair of anesthesiology and intensive care of the «National Institute of Health», which deals with postgraduate education and training of medical anesthesiologists.
The main directions of the organization of work of the anesthesiology department are:
- Preoperative preparation
- Implementation of anesthesia
- Postoperative control
The anesthesiology department serves 15 operating theaters.
The operating theaters are equipped with:
- with modern anesthesia equipment equipped with multigas analyzers,
- with monitors, fixed and portable (electrocardiogram, pulse oximeter, invasive and non-invasive blood pressure measurement, thermometer),
- with defibrillators,
- with automatic injectors,
- with an autohemotransfusion device,
- with a UDS device and a neurostimulator.
The Department is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment necessary for managing difficult airways (fibrobronchoscope, video laryngoscope, laryngeal masks, etc.).
The following types of anesthesia are performed in the Anesthesiological Department:
- General multicomponent anesthesia
- Neuroaxial anesthesia (spinal, epidural, peripheral nerve blocks)
- Sedation and monitoring
When choosing the method of anesthesia, an individual approach is shown to each patient.
