General Therapy Department

The General Therapy Department of the «Saint Gregory the Illuminator» Medical Center is located on the 6th floor of the therapeutic building (C6).

Endocrinology and Rheumatology services also operate within the Department.

The Department employs experienced specialists who combine educational, scientific and practical activities.

The middle and junior medical staff is also made up of experienced medical workers.

The Department is considered an educational base for a number of institutions.

The Diagnosis and Treatment of patients are based on modern international medical standards, clinical guidelines, procedures and standards.

The following Diseases are diagnosed and treated in the General Therapy Department:

Diseases of the digestive system:Esophagus Diseases:

  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease with and without esophagitis, including complications,
  • Esophagitis of different origin։ Eosinophilic, fungal, viral, bacterial and other rare species․

Diseases of the stomach and intestines։

  • Ulcer disease, symptomatic ulcers,
  • Gastritis: atrophic, non-atrophic, special forms,
  • Inflammatory bowel diseases: Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis,
  • Celiac disease and other enteropathies,
  • Functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract․

Liver and Pancreatic diseases:

  • Primary Biliary and Sclerosing Cholangitis
  • Drug-induced liver damage

Pneumonia, including community-acquired and in-hospital complications of pneumonia

  • Chronic inflammatory diseases of airways

  • Asthma: allergic, non-allergic, special forms of asthma
  • Bronchoectatic disease
  • Lung interstitial and pleural diseases
  • Fibrinous and exudative pleuritis

An irreplaceable and inseparable part of the diagnosis of diseases of the respiratory system is the assessment of external respiratory function - spirometry, which is also performed in our department.
